I guess we have to blame this new purple craze on Rimowa luggage. Rimowa first introduced the Salsa Air luggage in a color called "ultraviolet" which is really a deep purple shade. Travelers took to the purple color immediately. Both men and women purchased the Rimowa Salsa Air in the ultraviolet color. I guess the deep purple reminded them of "royalty" and travelers like to be treated well so the color was and is a huge hit. Rimowa Salsa Air is 100% polycarbonate that is strong, lightweight and durable. With multi-directional wheels, it rolls along easily. The other manufacturers waited and then followed. We now have Victorinox Swiss Werks 4.0 in purple. The purple color has been added to the Swiss Werks collection as a staple color so it will remain in the line along side their black, emerald green and red. We now even have Delsey Helium Contour introducing purple to their four-wheeled luggage collection. Lipault Paris has all of their luggage collections in purple. This includes their very lightweight four wheeled luggage and their two wheeled foldable pieces, plus their hardside bags. Antler luggage introduced eggplant which is also a deep purple color to their Camden Town hardside collection. The deep purple color is easy to spot at busy baggage carousels. The rich purple color is also dark enough not to show dirt and grime from traveling. Everything in luggage is coming up purple and it looks good.
