The enormous figure of $2.56 billion dollars was actually collected during the first nine months of 2010 in checked baggage fees by the airlines. Newsday recently reported that the airline industry has collected this vast sum. Now, you understand why carry on luggage is so popular! Besides avoiding these fees that you are now forced to pay for checked baggage, there are many other reasons to use carry on luggage exclusively. Carry on luggage saves time! You don't have to wait at the baggage carousel for your checked baggage to appear. Often, unloading baggage from the plane can take an extended amount of time as well as patience.
